Definitions:
Short Term
Less than 8 weeks for the individual role.
Implementation Level 1
Has basic PC and networking skills. Can resolve basic configuration problems and install hardware / OS etc.
Implementation Level 2
Has all the skills identified above but can also resolve higher-level issues and can administer NT / Unix or Netware servers.
Implementation Team Leader
Has all the skills identified above but with high level troubleshooting skills and supervisory ability. Is usually an individual with more than 7 years experience in 1st and 2nd level support.
Specialist Linux / Windows Server / SQL
Is either certified on one of the platforms mentioned or has extensive hands on experience in build, configuration, design and administration. Frequently these skills are combined e.g NT / Unix. May also have Cisco and other network configuration skills.
Other Specialist
This can include Oracle, Java Development, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Web Development, Cybersecurity or Unified COmmunications.
Consultant
Usually an individual with combined business and information technology skills although some specialise in one or other area. Minimum experience requirement is 7 years with degree qualifications.
Senior Consultant
All of the above attributes but additional requirement for MBA qualification and at least 10 years experience in either discipline.
